This was our second visit to this little gas-station-turned-restaurant. The food is phenomenal! I am on a low-carb diet and it is sometimes difficult to find places to eat that serve tasty side dishes that are not some kind of potato. The GastroPit has a side of pickled veggies that I love. And they serve a garlic white sauce made without sugar! I recommend it on the smoked chicken, but I think it would be great on anything they serve.

It's a new place and they're obviously wanting to make a good impression. Mission accomplished. Brisket was decent. They have a good beer selection. Beans were just OK. I'm not much of a sauce guy, but I tried a few and they were fine. But the ribs! Oh man, so awesome. Just the right combination of salt, spice, and fat, nice bark, the right amount of chew, good smoke ring, just all around very well made. I'm definitely gonna eat here many more times. This is a great alternative to the normal fare found on The Hill, and I commend them for being bold enough to avoid opening yet another pizza and pasta place. They have the gift of BBQ to share with the world. Come and get it, folks!

Great little quaint place. Spare rib chilli was amazing. If on the hill and want to try something different, give them a shot. The Dr pepper sauce is really good!
