I think JG is on a verge of losing another star. While the food remains exceptional and the lady sommelier elegantly elevated our occasion, our main waiter (first name starting with B) ruined our entire experience. Unfortunately, problems escalated towards the end and here is why: - He never treated like we were welcomed. No eye contact. No effort to engage and connect with guests whatsoever. - Cold explanations about the menu. Almost like a robot. - He suggested to take out my main because I was full and I didn't even touch it, but when we went out to the lobby after the meal to claim the box, I got a box of chocolate instead (here is where the real problem starts). - Instead of him, another manager came out and told us to wait 6 minutes because they need to prepare the food again. - Instead, we stood there for more than 20 minutes without any update, and no apology. - After speaking about our frustrations, the receptionist instead went to the kitchen and gave our food. Still, I felt like she was just following her SOP just trying to get this out of the way. - Eventually, our main waiter never showed up and never tried to correct anything nor apologize. I wouldn't expect a great service at a non-fine dining restaurant, but come on, this is a world-renowned Jean-Georges. Did they lose focus with so many JG chains out there? As a customer who was once obsessed with JG, I wanted to write a few words to see them live up to their expectations again.

Five stars! Wonderful food and atmosphere. Service is great too. They have The Mascot. Great choice for a romantic evening overlooking the river. I highly recommend this company. Thanks guys!

Very surprised this is a Michelin rated restaurant. Have been to other lower rated Michelin rated restaurants and this is not deserving of the rating they have received. Wait staff were disinterested and absolutely unengaged. Our server literally talked over and reached across our faces to take menus, rather than walking from guest to guest to take orders. Was given dirty utensils that I had to ask to have replaced. Dinner was over salted, over cooked and cold. Told our server I was allergic to peanuts..... The chocolates given at the end of the meal to take away were peanut butter!. Absolutely no label indicating peanut...Thank goodness I only have a mild allergy. Mediocre food, mediocre service.... There are too many other wonderful places in NYC.... Don't waste your palate experience here!
