“Casually elegant” and “expensively” priced, this bamboo-lined East Village Japanese slices a “flawless symphony” of “incredibly fresh fish” ; for best results, insiders “sit at the sushi bar” and go the omakase route, though no matter where you land, owners Jack and Grace Lamb “really take care of you.”

Mitsu-san, the sushi chef, is a master. He has his own sushi rice recipe that adds a subtle flavor to delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared food. In my opinion, better Omakase than the places charging multiples of Jewel Bako.

The setting is nice and interesting with two parallel and almost identical rooms and a counter in the back. Service is excellent. We were a bit disappointing because their fish and rice are high quality but they tend to spoil the raw flavors by adding too much unnecessary noise on their sushi - like scallions, jalapeno, yuzu, microgreens, spices, horseradish, and so on. Prices are fair.

Elegant sushi restaurant. Tried Omekase sushi tasting menu - sushi melts in your mouth. Portions are small so plan on ordering several dishes if you want to leave satisfied. Great variety of sakes.
