“Now and forever” , this circa-1972 UES “preppy haven” is a “fixture” where the “classic burgers” , “addictive cottage fries” and “mob scene” are as much a “tradition” as the cash-only policy; the separately owned Upper West Side (accepts credit cards) and Village outposts ”authentically replicate“ the menu, and ”you can usually get a table without waiting.”

An extended Happy Hour on Mondays is a great find in the city, especially in the bustling neighborhood. The Happy Hour food menu is small, but on the bright side, there's a Happy Hour food menu! I ordered all three sliders for $15 and my favorite was the bacon cheeseburger. The description here says it's cash only, but fear not, we paid with cards and were met with no resistance.

I love this place. A little taste of old New York City. Straight forward bartenders with good manners. Cash only- Simple and delicious bar food. The two line cooks kill it in the tiniest kitchen ever. Cottage fries and steak tartare are a must. Wash it down with a gin martini for lunch and you’re off to the races.

Had one of the best burgers I ever had here. Got a recommendation to go here, and it truly lived up to that. What I didn't know was that is was cash only, there was a warning on the door so we had to go and get some cash before we went in. Don't know if it's still like that, and the staff was alright. But the burgers, whoh. This is a must go for everyone who want a burger experience.
