Awesome place. I eat here all the time because I work right by here. While all their stuff is great, I usually get their large veggie steak for $5.50 (extra mushrooms)! You really can't find a better deal than that around here. Normal cheesesteaks are great. Their fries are great. they have a pickle bar, which is call a pickle buffet in my case. Never had a shake so I can't comment on that. But I'm a big fan of this place.

Listen, I live walking distance from Pat's and Geno's but I will gladly drive up to Joe's for a steak because it's SO MUCH better. So listen up visitors of our fine city, Joe's is a great place to go when you're in town. Servers are always kind and and the food is made quick. Try a steak wit and cherry soda. A great pairing if you've never tried it. Great location to take your friends from out of town too. Table service makes the experience a little easier than most steak shops. Little hint - these sandwiches are pretty big so you're kids can share. :)

It was our first time visiting Philadelphia, and we had to try an authentic cheesesteak. We obviously had many choices, but chose Joe's because of the high rating. It was a great !! The Cheesesteak was awesome! The staff was really nice, they even gave us a "disassembled" sandwich (meat cheese and roll all separate) to travel back to Virginia Beach for a friend who wanted to try one. It was a really good first-time experience. If we ever return to Philly, will definitely go back to Joe's and not even try any place else.
