The sushi is “always fresh” and “wonderful” at this no-frills East Village Japanese, where “unusual” specials and “excellent oysters” are other reasons to go; though not cheap, it’s considered a “pretty good value” given the “quality” – no wonder it’s “frequently full.”

How could this place have a Michelin-star??? Unbelievable,,, mediocre sushi, very cheap seaweed and rice. average service.. place was definitely not up to a par... will not return. So many better options around here for sushi.

Food is amazing! I love the sake menu as it shows the difference between each type to help you make the right decision. Service was ok but seemed very distracted. We ordered sushi for 3, gyoza and a few other items. We almost had to be rolled out by the end of our meal! For having a Michelin star, I really expected top service like I have experienced at other Michelin restaurants. The price is more than reasonable.

Took FOREVER to bring us our food. Come here only if you have an entire night to spare for a simple order as California rolls. When we asked the waiter, he made it seem like it was usual to wait for an hour in this place. PS : Writing this review while waiting for my order - over 70 minutes and counting !
