I love the original La Farm location and have always had great service there. Unfortunately, the new location inside Whole Foods is a different story. I've been there twice and both times my order was not as I expected. I ordered the Chicken Avocado Salad both times; the first time they gave me the Chicken Salad Sandwich (which I didn't notice until I got home and opened the box) and the second time they failed to tell me that they didn't have any Ranch Dressing that day (which is what the salad comes with). I waited for my order the second time and when it came up to the window, that's when the guy informed me they were out of Ranch. Why wouldn't they tell me that when I placed my order?? If would have changed my order completely. Needless to say, I won't be going back there. I'll drive the extra 5 minutes to go to the original location.

Been to La Farm several times and have never been disappointed. The croque madame is especially good, so much so that it's the only thing I keep getting when I go. They serve counter culture coffee with a wide variety of desserts: cookies, brownies, tarts, as well as lots of bread options like chocolate croissants and white chocolate chip baguettes. The regular baked breads themselves are excellent with lots of samples available, spreads like honey butter included. If you like bread of any kind or French food, definitely worth checking out

UPDATE : Recently remodeled. They took over the ABC store next door & expanded. Still not as intimate but MUCH nicer. Excellent coffee & food. I always get a cappuccino or latte. Coffee beans are locally roasted and never bitter. The bakery is outstanding. The bread is made fresh not frozen with real ingredients by a European trained Chef daily & baked in a European stone-hearth oven. Chocolates are made by an award winning chocolate maker. They have French desserts that are authentic, made in house. Not your typical bakery. The breakfast and lunch is wonderful also. Using the same standards, such as: use of local eggs. I always feel safe eating here because of the careful way all the food is prepared and the high quality of their ingredients. Be prepared to pay for this quality of food. It's not cheap but it is excellent and we'll known in Cary, especially for it's sourdough bread. Also, they have wonderfully filled breads if you like cheese or sweets filled inside!
