"Get ready to dine in the French countryside" when you make the "drive across the lake" to visit John Besh's "high-end" French-Creole destination in Lacombe, where the "rustic" setting ( "check out the chickens and pigs roaming around" ) "adds to the enjoyment" of eating "superb" food that's designed "to be savored" ; a "top-notch" staff that can recommend a good "vintage bottle of wine" bolsters fans' claim that it's "the ultimate romantic restaurant" ; P.S. Sunday brunch is popular.

My wife and I have eaten here multiple times now and Have loved it, but on new years eve we went and it was below average especially for the price. We sat next to a couple who ordered the same meals as we did and both orders of duck came out cold and the steak was under seasoned which is hard to believe since I think steak doesn't really need much seasoning, just salt and pepper. I would have brushed it off had the table next to us not had the same issues.

Amazing farm to table food. Excellent French cuisine that doesn't require a special occasion. Beautiful restaurant and 5 star food. The owners keep it casual enough to come for dinner anytime. Food is fresh and all herbs, etc grown onsite. Hopefully the locals of New Orleans will discover this hidden gem and give it the attention it deserves. Bar has been modernized with TV's and great conversation. This place is a must when we visit the New Orleans area. Grab a friend or family member and go treat yourself to a meal you'll remember. You'll be glad you did.
