Mac's Local Eats
Smashed burgers & other meaty fare
Smashed dry-aged beef patties draw a crowd to this burger counter inside Tamm Avenue Bar, where offerings (think boudin balls and candied bacon) change based on what’s locally available. Down-home digs match the straightforward fare, with picnic table seating on a simple patio.

First off. The burgers here are phenomenal. Second. If you're not a fan of trendy places don't bother going here. You will be overwhelmed by the craft beer selection and rustic-chic decor. Go there on a double date and force your significant other to stand in line (there will be a line if you go during prime time dining hours) while you and your bud enjoy a pint as they order the grub. This place is awesome.

This is an order-counter at the rear of Tamm Avenue Bar & Grill. They make smashed burgers (2 oz / patty) done with the crispy edges. They are supposedly known for fresh local ingredients and high quality beef. None of this matters. This was the best smashed burger I've had!! I got the 1/2 -1/2 with two pork patties and one beef. This was just the right amount of meat to make a nice sized burger and it tripled the crispy, lacy, edges around the patties. I can't wait to go back and try an all-beef burger. There was adequate seating in a room between the bar and a deli/general store on the north end of the place. We showed up at 6 pm on a Friday and it started getting crowded around 7 pm. The bar also has a great selection of craft beer.

Great food. The fried green tomato on the pimento cheese burger could have been a little thicker, but that's the only thing that I noticed. The service was great also. The riplet fries made me very happy.
