Health Food · NoMad · $$
This quick-serve NoMad American, by vets of Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad, focuses on vibrant salads and plates (with ingredients such as confit pork shoulder or quinoa tabbouleh) as well as roasted chicken with fries and a few wines on tap. Splashed with bright graphics, the room has a simple layout with tables along one side and a few counter seats facing the window.

Great lunch spot, very efficient so don’t let the long lines discourage you – they move fast. The only downside is the food is expensive! Average cost will hover around $14. But the food is delicious and portions are generous. Seasonal dishes are creative and good, like a squash salad. My all-time fave though is chicken and rice plate.

They gave hummus a 4.5 star treatment with their Cod Provencial dish. Also on the menu, Chicken schnitzel in focaccia with herb mayonnaise, and other appealing items on the menu, with good sized portions for the price. Everything prepared to order. Also available are beer, and wines by the glass, soft serve ice cream sundaes ('milk and cereal' is one of the flavors cashing in on the cereal milk food fad), a nice open seating area. no cash, cards only.

This place is a gem. I can't tell if its usually busy but it was empty for lunch during the snow storm. I chose the salmon rosti salad and I must say that I didn't eat such a good salad for a long time. Stunning. Not just a random salad. The place is really nice as well.
