Matadora
Spanish tapas & steak in spiffy digs
Tapas · $$
Multimillion-dollar renovations at a Hilton hotel in Woburn yielded this snazzy Spanish tapas restaurant (conceptualized in partnership with the team behind Boston hotspots Yvonne's, Ruka and Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar) emphasizing small plates and steak in a dining room covered with matador murals, distressed leather and reclaimed wood, plus an open kitchen and fire pit-equipped patio.

I went and the food was good and the service was fine. I was planning on going back. Saw my bill and noticed I was charged $3 per ice tea the table drank. Was never told this was their policy and they continued to offer my ice teas. After I paid the bill, I spoke with the GM and was informed coffee and sodas a free refills while ice tea is not. He could not give me an explanation as to what made ice tea special enough to have a charge per glass. Like I said the food was good and the service was fine, just leaves you feeling gypped.

Pleasantly surprised! I was meeting my girlfriends for dinner and drinks, wasn't expecting much, but boy! What a great surprise. The tapas were excellent, the drinks were great, and the service superb! Will definitely be going back.

The atmosphere is a little strange as it's in an open hotel lobby. You can look up and see the balconies of people's hotel rooms. The food itself was delicious. I highly recommend the street corn. Everything we had was delicious.
