MAX's Wine Dive Denver
Fried chicken, champagne & a lively vibe
Wine Bar · Speer · $$
Known for pairing fried chicken and champagne, the Capitol Hill outpost of this Texas-based franchise offers a contemporary Southern menu alongside an extensive wine list. In keeping with the name, the atmosphere is rollicking — woodsy, dark and cheerfully loud.

Really nice place that walks the line of chic and casual. Great drinks list if you're willing to spend just a little bit extra. You won't have to break the bank to come here, but if you wanted to, your money would be well spent. The aesthetic matches the atmosphere in that it's relaxing and classy.

Eating at Max's Wine Dive tonight was one of the WORST dining experiences I have had in Denver in a LONG time. I could have forgiven the mediocre food if the service had not been as HORRIBLE as it was. After waiting for almost 30 minutes for our reservation to be fulfilled (which I totally understand is not the fault of the host), we watched the two tables next to us who were both seated after us receive their waters, drinks, and place their orders before the waiter even checked into our table. We watched both tables not only get their appetizers, but their main courses before we were even served our salads. I'm about 90% sure that our waiter forgot to put in our order as the restaurant had cleared out and one of the tables next to us paid their bill before our meals were even placed in front of us. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and we did not leave until almost 11pm - it was not because we were having such a lovely evening that we did not want to leave. All I can say is, if you are looking to have a nice night out with friends, do not go to Max's Wine Dive.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the menu has a great selection, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I definitely recommend bringing friends for a great night out.
