“Take the kids” to this ’50s-era chain for “good, old-fashioned” American diner food (including “breakfast anytime” ) served in a “retro drive-in atmosphere” complete with “jukeboxes at the tables” ; while the “basic” fare is “nothing special” , at least the joints are “open late and early in the morning.”

Quintessential American diner. Best milkshakes! Nice burgers, waffles, and sliders selection! They are open 24 hrs and a great spot to drop in when everything else is closed. People watching on party nights is great too. Think Halloween, St. Patricks day, Fleet weekend, etc. Even if you don't see it on the menu if they have the ingredients they'll make it. Love bringing visitors here, particularly friends from overseas. Staff is always fabulous and super efficient. They are also happy to kick drunk a$$holes out which is appreciated in late nights if needed.

We had a late lunch on a Sunday.... ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Good, attentive service, superb food, clean kitchen and restrooms. It's been 25 years since I was last here, and it hasn't changed!! Excellent burger, meatloaf sandwich, and shakes! But the best item is the Lumpy Mashed Potatoes... unbeatable grub! Yeah, yeah, it's expensive for a Old Schooly burger joint, but get over it! You are in San Francisco after all! The Big Bus lets off one block away... If you're hungry, there is super CHOW here!

My go to place for breakfast when I'm in the area. Everything on the menu is worth trying. The service is always the best. This is a location of the chain. A small parking lot usually has a spot, except during some peak hours. Walking distance to a lot of motels so very convenient for overnight travellers.
