MF Sushi Houston Museum District
Genteel stop for sushi & Japanese fare
Japanese · Museum District · $$$
A spin-off of an Atlantan forebear, this modern Japanese in the Museum District marks the return of brothers Chris Kinjo and Alex Kinjo, whose now-shuttered restaurant in Briargrove was dearly missed. The new, high-end eatery serves standout sushi, modern Japanese dishes and a can't-miss omakase tasting menu.

My wife and I went here for a nice dinner, and had our minds blown. We both like sushi, but neither of us realized how awesome it could be. We did the omakase (chef tasting menu) option, and the quality was unbelievable. Everything was incredibly fresh, and the chef was awesome to watch prepare our food and very friendly. Service was excellent. Easily one of the best meals we've ever had. You do pay for it though... While it was one of the best meals we've had, it definitely wasn't one of the cheapest! That being said, it was completely worth it, and if you want an awesome sushi experience in Houston this is the place to get it.

MF Sushi is an incredible experience. We went for Houston Restaurant Week. There was a set menu and we got to sit right at the bar. Chef had an amazing lineup of tasty dishes for us and made friendly conversation the whole time. The other staff were very attentive and professional. The atmosphere is dimly lit and elegant. I will definitely be back here again. I highly recommend visiting for one of the best sushi experiences in Houston.

Great environment combined with world class sushi MF is Houston's premier sushi restaurant. MF boasts an impressive selection of sashimi and seasonal fare that can't be found elsewhere. So if you want sea urchin roe or just an incredible King roll MF is Houston's finest. They feature Omikase which is a Japanese tradition of chef's choice and which I recommend and also over 120 different sakes. MF is great but not cheap so expect a high price you can definitely live with.
