An “authentic ramen” joint by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, this Murray Hill spot focuses on four types of “phenomenal” bowls – including Tokyo-style chicken and pork with spicy coconut curry – plus “top-notch” appetizers; communal seating creates a “nice buzz” , and set lunches and happy-hour specials bolster the “reasonable” cost.

The sauces that is what makes this place sing. I would describe it as a combination of two Asian styles think Japanese/Vietnamese and they have done a good job with this meld. What sets it apart as mentioned earlier are those sauces which adds so much complexity and flavor that you could be tempted to eat beyond the point of satiety. Thankfully the prices ($5 for a soft shell crab) are such that I guess for most we would resist the temptation. Atmosphere is definitely not romantic but serviceable not tempted to linger after the plates are cleared. Staff - attentive and friendly, definitely got a cool vibe in spite of the hustle and bustle.

The staff was very attentive at Momosan and the food and sake was delicious! We were visiting NYC for our honeymoon and decided to eat dinner here. We arrived around the typical dinner time and did not wait long at all. I recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic ramen meal. We will definitely visit again!

This is by far the best restaurant in the city. The level of hospitality here is on par with many of the places I frequented when I lived down South. I have always had an excellent experience. The food is always fresh and rich in flavor, and the sake is smooth and sublime. I come here as often as I can and try to bring friends when I do. My favorite combination of dishes are the Tokyo Chicken and the Gyoza. 😋
