Morton's The Steakhouse
High-end chain for prime beef & seafood
Steakhouse · Downtown · $$$
The Zagat Review
The steaks are “always cooked to perfection” at this classic American chophouse where the fare is so “fantabulous” that it’s “hard to believe it’s a chain” ; the handsome, refined setting lends itself to “special” , albeit “expensive” , occasions, though there is a “happy-hour bar menu with a good burger at a reasonable price.”

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I wouldn't give it any stars if that was an option. I was really looking forward to trying this place out for the first time but they were a huge disappointment! My boyfriend and I had a reservation on Christmas day, quickly got seated but then no one ever went to help us. A waiter asked if we wanted some water, we said yes but he never went back. A family sat at a table by us and they quickly got their menus and drinks order taken. A different waiter passing by noticed we were just sitting there and asked if we wanted some water (he had some on hand) we said yes and we had ask him for some menus since they never took us any. He went and got some but they were dirty with I don't know what and it got my boyfriend's shirt sleeve dirty. After that, he left and again, no one ever went to check on us. After 10-15 minutes of terrible service and not having a single person AT LEAST take our drink order, we decided to leave somewhere else. I understand that it was busy but literally every table around us was getting helped except for us. It's a really pricey restaurant and we were willing to spend the money on it but no with that horrible service.

My last visit was happy hour and it wasn’t impressive. I’ve dined at the Morton’s in Chicago and had a great experience. I liked my dishes at the bar in Houston but my guests weren’t. They are a bit overpriced and the options are limited. They were out of a few ingredients for a number of cocktails. The dessert was $18 and took 30 minutes. Was supposed to release melted chocolate in the middle but nope. Chocolate bits that never melted. Good homemade chips.

Fantastic fries, great wine and beer menu, but not a lot of options for people with restricted diets. The venue is clean and nicely appointed; it looks like no expense was spared on the decor. The waiters were obliging and attentive.
