The Zagat Review
Despite its location on a "busy corner" in the Quarter, this "classy" , old-world restaurant is definitely "not just for tourists" , what with its "superior execution" of traditional Creole favorites ( "don't miss" the turtle soup); prices aren't cheap, but "delightful" drinks, an "awesome" jazz brunch and "professional" service "all add up to a magical experience" – and remember to check out "the séance room upstairs" , where the "resident ghost" hangs out.

Went there a few days before New Years Eve and the food and service was great. Went back New Years Eve and was disappointed. Food was barely warm and my chicken was dry. I mentioned our concerns to the waiter who dismissed me fairly quickly. I did send an email to Muriels management via their website and over a week later, no reply. I am not sure if I will go back there again. They could have at least acknowledged my email.

We heard about this place before we even arrived to New Orleans and his special “ghost” table. We called for reservations and the lady in the phone was really nice to explain us their special table and it’s story. We arrived there at 7 and they were waiting for us, they escorted us to the back room where the ghost table is and they told us a couple stories about it. We ordered steak, oysters, tuna and gnocchi. The food was amazing, my steak prepared raw perfect like I eat it. Everything was made to perfection. The ghostly atmosphere and the people watching this famous table from the windows made a very special night for us, and when we were leaving one of the candles just fell to the ground like someone had just pushed it, very mysterious and spooky night with great food and amazing service, a place to visit if you are in New Orleans!

Best meal we had in NOLa. The gorgonzola cheesecake appetizer was perfection, and the rest of our food was just as good. The duck was cooked perfectly, and the flavours were great. Serving sizes were way too big, but that seems to be typical foe the southern US. Our servers were excellent- attentive and friendly enough, but still highly professional. They were a bit slow on the drinks... we sat with empty glasses for quite a while before getting their attention to order another round... but that was a minor issue. Great atmosphere, perfect for a special.occasion or just a nice dinner out when exploring the city. Overall amazing dining experience.
