Despite its location on a "busy corner" in the Quarter, this "classy" , old-world restaurant is definitely "not just for tourists" , what with its "superior execution" of traditional Creole favorites ( "don't miss" the turtle soup); prices aren't cheap, but "delightful" drinks, an "awesome" jazz brunch and "professional" service "all add up to a magical experience" – and remember to check out "the séance room upstairs" , where the "resident ghost" hangs out.

Delicious food--steak was tender & cooked perfectly. Excellent service: attentive but not intrusive. Make reservations if you want to avoid waiting for a table. Nice view of Jackson Square from the balcony. No food/drink service on the balcony, so order your drink at the bar & take it outside--the balcony is usually open when the restaurant is closed between lunch & dinner service. Can dress somewhat casual, but I don't think shorts/hats/tank tops allowed for men.

Seven of us went for Easter Brunch. It was wonderful! Lovely ambience, delicious food, top-notch service & jazz trio. Just go! You will not be disappointed. Southern & upscale.

We came here two years ago when we were last in town and the food was amazing, especially the cornbread, it was to die for! We went back this year with a craving for the cornbread. When we ordered it, it was nothing like two years ago. It was dry and had no flavor. I would say two years ago it was the best cornbread I've ever had, and this time, it was the worst. Highly disappointed. The service was still great and the other food good but the main attraction for us was gross :/
