Fans say the “superior, innovative takes on New England seafood classics” “live up to the hype” at this “spendy” North End legend known for its “sensational” oysters and a “justifiably famous” lobster roll; the no-reservations policy ensures “long lines” , and the “small” space gets “noisy” and crowded “as a sardine tin” , but a “well-informed” staff helps make it “worth the wait.”

The service is really lacking here. The place is tiny and when we walked in, we stood at the door for ages before someone finally registered we were there. We were seated in the corner and it was pretty awkward being squished so closely to the other tables. After finishing, the waitress whisked away my plate so quickly I wasn't able to ask for the rest of the food to be packed to go. To be fair the lobster roll was pretty satisfying - warm and buttery goodness with a decent amount of meat. Shrimp cocktail was okay, nothing amazing. I don't eat oysters but my husband did say he liked them and ordered seconds. The burger was good but too much sauce. It got overwhelming pretty quickly. Overall okay but expected more from the price and hype.

Wait time is a bit ridiculous. We are talking a couple hours for dinner and an hour in the mornings. I think it's safe to say that it's not worth waiting that long, but if you happen to be around when they finally let you in then the food is worth it. I ordered a cold and hot lobster roll and they were sold at M/P or $31. They are a bit pricey but the size justifies it a little. Overall the experience was great and so was the food, but the wait time is just killer!

While eating our way through Boston (our second trip to this wonderful city), we received multiple recommendations for Neptune Oyster. We tried for lunch but didn’t realize the wait would be a couple hours. We tried again in the evening by putting our name on the list and walking around the surrounding area for a couple hours as we waited. We received a text when our table was ready which was really convenient. We were seated at the bar and our server was super helpful. We had never really given oysters a chance. Our server gave us some wonderful recommendations and the oysters were delicious. We came for the lobster roll and it didn’t disappoint. It was seriously phenomenal. My mouth waters right now just thinking about it. So much lobster packed in a sandwich. I cannot wait to go back.
