Lives up to its very high praise. Excellent and innovative Mexican food. Huge selection of tequila, but even the base model margaritas are very good. The staff is very attentive and friendly. A little bit pricey, but 100% worth it

While the food and atmosphere were fun and chique, the flavors left much to be desired. The food was too heavily spiced, resulting in a taste not representative of the main ingredients. The guacamole and chips were the only dish enjoyed by all at my table. Sadly, I will not be returning to Nixta.

I’ve eaten here twice. I was hoping to have a high end experience and it fell short both times. The first time, we were made to feel inferior for not having a reservation even though the place was empty and we just wanted drinks and a quick bite. The second time the service and drinks were great but the food was so-so. Not the “Mexican high-end dining” experience I’ve heard about. Scallop dish was spicy but my husband liked it. The shrimp and crab cold salad was decent but not great. Desserts were pretty sad. The flan was cold and too dense. The “deconstructed bread pudding” was terrible. It was ice cold, soggy and the three caramel sauces ran together and were too runny. It lacked flavor and salt. Service was excellent. Probably won’t be back unless the quality improves.
