Relocated to a landmark building in the Financial District, Nobu Matsuhisa’s “iconic” namesake “tantalizes the palate” with “distinctive” Japanese-Peruvian plates “sleekly delivered” to a “sceney” crowd; David Rockwell again designed the space, with a dramatic central bar punctuating the columned first-floor lounge and artful wood ceilings topping the plush dining room downstairs, which has an open kitchen, sushi bar and private sake table.

Great food and I am not a sushi guy. Only had 1 single non-alcoholic bottle of beer. Not one choice, one bottle on the premises. Pretty shabby for a high end joint. Love the art and location.

Very nice interior. The environment is good for chatting . Food was great, except the waiting time was a little long. I had a lunch set, the portion might be small for some people. I want to come back for drinks or dinner.

Went there for the NYC restaurant week lunch special and was very disappointed. First they seat you at the bar and the lounge area away from the main dining hall in the basement. The limited menu is basically a half portion of their regularly priced lunch. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Had better sushi at other places in the city. Service was poor. The waiter flung the receipt at my face and didn’t even bother to apologize. I just smiled and exited.
