Nom Wah Tea Parlor
Old-school standby for dim sum & tea

The Zagat Review
You may “need Google Maps” to find it, but it's worth seeking out this “time-warp” Chinatown vet (around since 1920) for “surprisingly good” , “real-deal” dim sum at “bargain” rates; despite a “nondescript ambiance” and “no-frills” service, it's still a “favorite” “go early or really late” to avoid a wait.

Really good dim sum place! We really enjoyed the food. I highly recommend stopping by and checking in before exploring the other places in the area. We were told our wait would be 45 minutes to an hour and it was dead-on 60 minutes when our number was called. We hit up one of the local bakeries and grabbed some stuff for later during our wait. Once we were seated our server was all over it...VERY helpful and fast. The entire staff was extremely friendly and polite...despite being crazy busy the whole time. They did a great job of bringing out our items at the right times too instead of everything at once. Every item we ate was awesome! Very reasonable prices too. Thanks!

Be prepared for a wait that is well worth it. You can't call them to reserve a seat, so wait around by checking out nearby coffee shops or taking a walk through china town. The food here was delicious, and word to the wise: don't over order. Start off with a few plates and see how you're doing. You'd be surprised at how much dumplings can fill you up. Biggest recommendation: soup dumplings

Cash only! Nom Wah has the best Dim Sum I have ever had. I tried a variety of items to share family style. Soup Dumplings - This is what brought me to Nom Wah and I was not disappointed. These are the ultimate comfort food. Egg Rolls - Huge! The egg rolls are very different from what I normally see but they are great. Veggie dumplings - Bland. I would not try these again. Pork Bun - So yummy! I wish there was more filling and less bun but the flavors are good. Beef Rice Roll - Different from anything I have had before. The texture of the beef was creamier than expected but I would order them again.
