Although a “favorite” of “NYU profs” and other “Washington Square regulars” , this “swell little neighborhood place” mostly flies under the radar; “superior” New American cuisine, “civilized” service and a “grown-up” , “comfy” setting where you “can talk without going hoarse” keep it a “neighborhood standby.”

Regularly eat here with colleagues. Even Columbia faculty make the trek!! Very warm atmosphere in which adults can actual converse and hear each other. Never disappointed with selections. Friendly, not intrusive, service. Kudos to management and staff.

Brunch and dinner may be great, breakfast is an overpriced trash pile where everything was burnt but still cost 17+ dollars.

Terrible disappointing dinner on January 6. Chicken was overdone to the point of being inedible, all mains were served over the same root vegetable bed--gross and syrupy, service was minimal--we saw our server once for the order, and had to beg to occasional water. We were told that the restaurant was down a server on the night, but no response when we reported the chicken disaster. Only response was to offer another version--we lost complete faith in the joint. Had hoped this would be our go-to in the future, but it's not ready for prime time and very expensive. Steer clear of the potato leek soup--more like snot than soup. Sorry, North Square. Good breakfasts for sure--stay away from dinner.
