The Zagat Review
A creative New American menu highlights interesting meats and seafood (lamb sweetbreads, skate schnitzel, tandoori octopus) at this River North entry. Oak and char figure prominently in the lodge-like setting, with puffy ruched light fixtures adding a feminine element, plus mohair- and leather-upholstered seating, and bar with TVs and handy recharging outlets.

I was so excited with the decor when I walked in. But expectations dropped immediately after getting the good. Food wasn't even average, I could cook something better at home. We tried multiple plates and they were so mediocre that at points I didn't even know what I was eating. Small portions. Mediocre. Service was great and I hope they get their food better as the staff was awesome. Too bad.

Excellent shareable plates for small groups. Because everything is very creative, we simply asked the manager for the "best hits", and we were very pleased. We especially liked the MSG chicken, great flavor and texture.

Living a few blocks from this place I was super excited that I found a new place to frequent. Especially considering the ambiance was amazing on the patio and our waiter was awesome. We got MSG wings and beef tartare to start. Wings were great but the tartare was average. The negative review really comes from the main course. We got he skirt steak with fries. The steak was not tender at all and completely over cooked with no flavor. The fries came out cold. It's hard to give a place negative reviews for cold fries, but when your paying that price for fries you should be able to rely on them being at least warm. Really dissappointed in this place, I am really hoping it gets better.
