Turning out “Japanese comfort food” that’s “consistently delicious” , these “nothing-fancy” branches of a Tokyo-based izakaya chain provide “down-to-earth” favorites like yakitori, soba and soup bowls; given the “reasonable” pricing (and no-tipping policy), the only hitch is the occasional “wait.”

I so appreciated this non-tipping authentic restaurant. Our waiter was phenomenal. So helpful and so courteous. We genuinely enjoyed our dining experience as a whole and the food was absolutely fantastic.

The food is excellent, service is great, and no tipping allowed. (Don't worry, they pay their staff well.) It's basically a little slice of Japan in NYC. They don't take reservations, and the line gets quite long at peak mealtimes, but it's worth the wait.

Wait time wasn't too bad for NYC dinner time rush. We did try to get there as close to 6 as possible. By the time we sat, there was a longer line. Food was delicious, but the portion is a bit small compared to the price. Nice place to meet up with a friend to catch up. Staff was attentive and asked about drinks and refilling tea.
