Amazing steak restaurant. One of the biggest and best wine list in the Country. Lobster deviled eggs were outstanding. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. I would rate in the top 10 steakhouses in the country.

I enjoyed an extremely nice filet mignon with roast mushrooms here. I sat at their bar which had a huge whisky selection and was run by three extremely professional staff. The service and food was great, but it was a bit too crowded for a restaurant of this class when I first arrived at 6:30pm. They need to reduce the table numbers slightly and concentrate on quality rather than quantity to achieve the required ambiance which their service and prices demand.

This restaurant is my favorite in Houston. The food is phenomenal, great atmosphere and the service is wonderful. I like to sit at the bar, because sitting at a table in the dining room, alone, would look weird. Besides Chris in the bar is really nice and chatty. He knows the food and talks about the daily specials - as opposed to memorizing a few lines that are handed to him. Did I mention the wine list? When you are in a restaurant that has a good wine list, chances are they also have a good sommelier. Pappas has a few - but I like talking with David and Brandon. I'm not a wine pro, but I am learning and they have made some great recommendations. Besides, its nice to hear the opinion of the experts, free of charge. If you like to sit at a bar, rather than in the dining room, and sometimes if the bar is real busy, I head for the bar in front of the kitchen. Its really nice and its fun to watch the chefs prepare the great food. I definitely recommend Pappas in downtown Houston.
