Go for dinner and "stay for the people-watching" at this "trendy" tavern touted for its "iconic" North Beach location and "delicious" New American menu; it's "not cheap" and the "lovely" , wood-beamed digs can get "noisy" , but "smooth" service and a "lively" bar scene fueled by "on-point" cocktails make it perfect for a "group celebration."

Upscale dining can be impersonal. Not here. We had a large party and we were treated warmly and the service never skipped a beat. Atmosphere was inviting as opposed to stuffy and pretentious. Food was yummy and we were eager to sample each others. The balance of good food, atmosphere and service was very much appreciated.

Really great upscale restaurant that's perfect for business or personal occasions. I met a friend here for dinner and liked how dark the place is yet very cool and sophisticated. The drinks were great as was my meal. I'd definitely come back in the future!

Awesome place for an upscale dinner in a casual environment. It can get packed but the bar area rotates pretty quickly and they also have a communal table. The Spanish Octopus for dinner was incredible, big meaty tentacles full of flavor and great presentation. For starters, if you love lemons then the lemon chips are a must-try, served with burrata and fresh Italian parsley. Lots of wood and soft lighting contribute to its rustic tavern feel.
