The Zagat Review
"They serve food?" ask surprised fans of the "liquid nourishment" at this Bourbon Street "tourist heaven" where servers "keep your glass full" of the "requisite" hurricanes, and "decent" , relatively "affordable" Creole fare is overshadowed by the "boisterous" "party" in the "must-see" courtyard with its "famous flaming fountain" and "unbelievable" "dueling pianos" ; sure, it may be "commercialized" , but many deem it a "classic New Orleans experience" that everyone should have "at least once."

The dueling pianos experience was awesome. I was so impressed by the pianists' ability to put on a show, both musically and with their personalities. They even played Baby Got Back while we were there. The piano bar is in the back, through the grotto. The servers were nice and the drinks were fun and not too expensive ($7-8 for a Purple People Eater, for example). People would sing along. A great place to go with a group, or even with a date, or even by yourself.

Good food. Strong drinks. Emphasis on strong. Hurricanes taste like straight liquor Sweet aftertaste. Not a complaint. Burgers are big and hefty. Oysters, alligator, and duck deep fried in crunchy batter. Must visit!

This is a fun place to go for drinks - maybe bottled drinks. The music was fun, we met some cool people, and we had a good time. We were able to hang out outside on the patio, under the awning, while it rained. I saw two roaches while I was there, which wasn't terribly appetizing, and one of the male bartenders was serving drinks with filthy hands. Also, ladies bathrooms have no locks on the stall doors.
