It's “serenity defined” at this Jean-Georges Vongerichten “retreat” in the far West Village, where “superb” New American cooking from chef (and chip off the old block) Cedric Vongerichten comes in “sleek” Richard Meier–designed quarters “overlooking the Hudson” ; “caring” , pro service completes the “refined” picture – and helps justify the “not cheap” tab.

Insider Tip
Lunch can be one of the best times to visit as the daylight affords beautiful views of the Hudson through its large glass windows, and the prix fixe menu is a steal.

Love love love this place. The ambience and the food and the service. It is just fantastic. A very special restaurant for my family and I. And they were so nice to our toddler too. No brainer 5* rating from me.

Great ambiance, delicious, high quality food at affordable prices and excellent service. Would definitely recommend! Food is not the greatest I’ve ever had but definitely good and reliable. Great for intimate settings (small birthday celebrations, bringing friends/family that are visiting etc.). Overall, really great!

Probably on the pricey end, but what an excellent lunch menu. My friend told me that the fried chicken here is exactly the same as the one served in Jean-George’s main restaurant. We went for lunch on a Sunday, and you can order from the short brunch selection or a $36 set menu (starter + main + dessert). Reservations suggested. It’s off the beaten path, but the restaurant was quite during a torrential downpour!
