An “NY institution” , these “bustling” taverns “continue to satisfy” with their “juicy” burgers, “jovial” atmosphere and “big bar scenes” ; “you can feel the history” at the circa-1884 East Midtown original, while Lincoln Center is a “staple” for showgoers and Battery Park City offers “outdoor seating by the Hudson.”

Love PJ Clarke's! As a New Yorker, I was resistant to this location. I mean, c'monnn . . . the history on 3rd Ave!? The ghosts of Dempsey, Ruth, Sinatra and others. But they did a good job capturing the atmosphere. The quality of the food didn't suffer. And the raw bar . . . still one of the best in Manhattan. Ultimately, the location is very convenient. On a nice day you can walk it to/from theater district easily. And, of course, Lincoln Center is just across the street

As a true New Yorker...I must say that this is hands down the best burger in the city. The crowd is a bit posh and not too diverse but do make your way in ...order a proper pint and their original burger with fries. You will not be disappointed.

Service was good but the food was mediocre. Burger was small and overcooked. Barely noticed the poblano and the sharp cheddar was a little bit of shredded cheese. Sweet potato fries were great.
