We moved from Portland , Maine, a great town for foodies, six months ago and just last night got to Rachel's for the first time. I only wish we'd discovered it sooner. From start to finish, it was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed speciality cocktails, outstanding entrees--seared tuned, pan-roasted salmon, steak sandwich--and a yummy desert. Service was first-rate and the owner, Barry, introduced himself and checked on our meal personally. Such a pleasant surprise to find such this gem in our little neighborhood.

Really good food, friendly service, nice venue but with prices to match. Given the high quality of the experience it is worth the price.

A fairly standard "farm to table" restaurant in Federal Hill, Rachel New American provides a good selection of seemingly common fare for this category of dining. While there were few surprises with the menu offerings, all dishes were well prepared and enjoyable. Many of the menu items were not available, though were supplemented by a good selection of specials. Portions were small, and prices were high; though on par with similar fine dining restaurants.
