Seasonal American fare in a cozy cottage
American · $$
The little old cottage that long housed Boulder institution John's Restaurant is now home to this regional American kitchen, where chef Daniel Asher (ex Root Down, Linger) crafts thoughtful, seasonal comfort food, including family recipes crowdsourced from the local community. The serene interior showcases natural materials, opening to a spacious backyard with a rotisserie and bar, as well as a kids' play area.

Been there twice and seems a bit hit and miss to me. The gnocchi were great the first time, second time not so much. Had to send back Brussel sprouts but their mac and cheese is great! (might go just for that). Compared to other 'nice' restaurants though I have to say that their prices are pretty decent for the quality of the food. Just the wine makes it very expensive but then again I'm European so I think I'll never get over the high alcohol prices in the US. Had a glass of good red there without looking at the menu and ended up paying 17 dollars for it. That hurts a bit :)

Delicious, affordable, and very Kind staff. Kelsey was especially attentive and considerate of all our needs while dining with her. We will be back soon!!

Overall just okay. The Z Market Salad was delicious. Service during first bite was very slow...Even just for a beer that I pre ordered at the bar. The deviled eggs are nothing special. I would have preferred the half head off baby lettuce salad to 3 half eggs. Interesting garnish but nothing special and not worth getting. The cookies and milk were just okay. Maybe I didn't have the best appetizer or desert.
