From the "adventurous" , "farm-fresh" New American plates that "won't cost an arm and a leg" to the "cool-funky" setting in a "converted filling station" , "everything is done extremely well" at Justin Cucci's "high-energy" hall of postmillennial "hippiedom" in LoHi; the "informed, friendly" service also keeps it a favorite, so no wonder you'll need "good luck getting in" ; P.S. there's also an offshoot in Denver International Airport's Terminal C.

Root Down at DIA lived up to its hype. It's a more pricey option at the airport, but it's yummy and hip. I got through security fast and decided to get a bite before my flight. I got the Colorado Bison Meatballs. Before I keep going, I should mention that you should not come here starving. The portions are smaller than average (think of dishes on Food Network shows like Iron Chef). My plate had three meatballs along with a side sauce. The meatballs had a good bison flavor, but they were a little too soft for my liking. I heard that the sliders are the best dish they have from two other diners there and one of the waiters. So I'll be trying that next time I'm at the airport and have sometime to kill!! Would go again!

I was hoping this place had great food before arriving. My boyfriend mentioned for us to have breakfast here since the reviews were awesome and co-workers of his had recommended it. It truly was a great overall experience. Seating was pretty perfect, lighting very relaxing, food TOP NOTCH, and service was quick, respectful and pleasant. Food was definitely priced well. We had the Eggs Benedict and Buttermilk Almond Pancakes. Must stop for us again next visit to Colorado!

Best bar staff. Really good sweet potato fries and a great selection of beers on tap. You can almost forget you're wasting away in the airport waiting for your flight. You can't go wrong with any of the food. I love the beet salad with tofu, the turkey club and the bentos.
