Hip Italian trattoria for seasonal fare
Italian · West Village · $$
The Zagat Review
“Delicious yet light” Italian dishes are sourced “straight from the rooftop garden” at this “energetic” , all-day West Village trattoria with a “sunny” , “rustic” dining room; a no-reservations policy (for fewer than eight) makes it “difficult to get a table” and the big “bar scene” pumps out “loud” decibels, so insiders say it’s best “mid-afternoon.”

Zagat Mentions of Rosemary's
Google Reviews
I arrived just after Rosemary’s opened on a brisk Wednesday morning in January and immediately felt like I was temporarily whisked away to Italy for a couple hours. Our server welcomed me kindly, while I waited for my friend. I had to be patient with my fresh squeezed orange juice, it was so delicious. Both of our breakfasts were accompanied by the freshest, warmest bread and after devouring our meals, we couldn’t resist but embark on the pastry round. The chocolate croissant was decadent & flaky and I wanted to stay at Rosemary's until lunch, but alas, my time had come to an end. I also want to note how spacious it is and I’m sure it gets crowded at lunch and dinner hours, but getting there when it opens for breakfast on a weekday is the way to go! Plus the pillows against the wall made it feel all the more welcoming. I can’t wait to go back and try something new, but I won’t forget to get another chocolate croissant!

The food was excellent. This is not a review about the food. It is however a comment on the honesty of the staff and the lack of responsiveness of the management in the restaurant. Last Wednesday night, March 14th, my wife and I ate dinner with our two girls at Rosemary's. (The food critic from the newspaper for which I am an editor recommended the place.) After the meal on our way to Penn Station in the cab my wife realized that had she left her phone on the table at the restaurant. We called the place many many many times. A young woman told us that the phone had not been turned in and that she would call us if it had. We heard nothing. We have called several times and no one has called us back. To make matters worse, "Find My I Phone" showed that the phone was in the restaurant later that night. The end result....someone hacked into her phone, managed to create new passwords and transferred money through Venmo out of our checking account!! Would you hand a waiter your charge card in this restaurant after I have relayed this story?

Great lunch Prix fix with a glass of wine $35 or without $28. The service was extremely attentive but without over doing it. The pasta dishes are definitely the dishes to get. The salads are also very good. Highly recommend.
