This “excellent” American cafe mini-chain has nailed a “winning formula” : “gigantic portions” of “rich, NOLA-type breakfast foods” , “bottomless coffee” and “killer” cocktails all served in a homey setting; it’s no wonder there are sometimes “waits” for the “moderately priced” eats – fortunately, “quick” , “conscientious” servers ease the pain, and help make it “the place to go for breakfast after a night out.”

This is one of my go to spots when in NOLA. I have been been to several of their locations. The food has always been consistently good. This location is fairly new and not in the hustle and bustle of the quarter which was nice. Had the trio eggs Benedict split between 2 people was nice since we started with some bloody Mary's. The bloody Mary w the bacon infused vodka is a must. Service was great both times we ate here during this last visit.

This place is really good. It's not cheap but you get your money's worth. I had the peacemaker which is two different Benedicts that total to the same size as a single one, and it's $15, that's a really good deal, we also got their special French toast that was stuffed with cheesecake cream and a plethora of blueberries and strawberries. Service is on point as well, the coffee is pretty good and has unlimited refills. The only thing I didn't like, is how they swipe your card right in front of you and you choose the tip amount right in front of them. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. Still a rad place.

Two Mid City residents who proudly helped rebuild our city after Katrina wanted to make a difference even more, so they opened a breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurant that does everything right. Their food is off-the-charts outstanding. Their sauces aren't so rich they'll hurt you, but plenty of flavor to go around in every bite. I had the Eggs Couchon. My wife had grilled catfish. Both of them were served over their house-made biscuits (which are TO DIE for). And the portions are HUGE! The service is friendly and prompt. The folks look like they genuinely enjoy working here. Here's the kicker: it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg once you're done. We were out of there with our gigantic brunch entrees and bottomless coffee for under $40. It's no wonder The Rube Slipper has expanded to other locations: everything works.
