"True Southern food" by way of California is the draw at this Tenderloin eatery serving "flavorful" dishes like Carolina-style barbecue and "crisp, tender" fried chicken, along with a local-leaning craft-beer list; a "super helpful" staff delivers "a lot for the money" in the narrow, contemporary-cool space featuring bright murals, a playful bar design and communal high-top seating.

Rough neighborhood but inside is nice and spacious. Food is good and satisfying. I chose grits instead of potatoes, I prefer creamy grits and these were more coarse but still hit the spot. The bacon had a hint if sweetness that I liked. Very reasonable prices.

A bit awkward at first as we didn’t see any staff available to talk to... so we just mimicked other ppl and put our names down on the waiting list ... finally got seated on the bar after maybe 15 min? (Much better than the super long line in Brenda’s!). Ordered beer with brunch but still HUNGRY after licking off the last piece on the plate... so yea it’s a bit expensive for the portion of the brunch it has to offer... staff is nice once the service starts... just hope in the future someone can coordinate the guests so they won’t get confused...

Hands down, one of the best brunches I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with either the fried chicken or fried steak. The biscuits are soft, not dry, and complements the meat perfectly. The waitstaff was also wonderful. Try this place out if you’re in the area!
