A steak house that serves it's meat in a dish of butter is my kind of steak house. I've heard rumors about the amount of butter used per steak - some say half a stick, most say a whole stick but I figure you're going there for a gluttonous dinner anyhow. Suck it up and take it as you asked for it. The steaks are cooked to perfection and if they're not - send it back and request a new one. After all you are paying for a perfect $45(minimum)+ piece of beef so it should be done right the first time... not the second, or even third. Ruth's does strive for the perfect temperature, just the way you've asked for it, so hopefully it's done right every time. Start off with Ruth's Jumbo Chop Salad (ask to split for two) dig into a Petite Filet (Trust me - it's a lot of food) and grab a side of the Au Gratin potatoes. You can thank me later. Don't forget to tip accordingly - although you're paying for a hefty meal, you should be provide with stellar service to boot.

Hard to find place in dining area without a reservation. But the best thing is they always find a table for you in the bar area of which the ambiance is lovely. Fillet steak surf & turf is highly recommended. Skinny chips are too skinny and way to small pieces.

The location has the ambiance of a 1970's steak house, very dark with an almost old bank feel to it. But for what appears to be a nice place to eat the service and food here was sub par. We waited forever to get anything to drink after being seated. We ordered our full meal (salad, soup and mains) with the special request to get salad first and then waited 20 minutes for them to end up bringing the soup and salad at the same time. The side portions while generous their preparation are nothing special. If you're looking for a good steak I would stick with Alexander's.
