This “seemingly traditional” Williamsburg American offers up “quiet luxury” via “reliably delicious” cooking washed down with “spectacular cocktails” mixed at a vintage bar; augmenting the “comfy, romantic” vibe is an oak-paneled cellar (Bar Below Rye) and one of the “best happy hours” around.

Had a better experience with the new bartender who was there last week. Also, it seems to be Rye's policy to pour new cocktails into the old glass you've just emptied. Very odd, not to mention tacky. First time I've ever come across this practice. Even dive bars don't do stuff like that. Tasty lil burgers though. The downstairs is only open certain days.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. 40+ ounces of pure pleasure. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the high prices of the near-by Peter Luger

Incredible food! Some of the best ribs I've ever had. Also, very cool drinks. All well priced, especially given that it's NYC.
