Although we had reservations for 9:00, we were not seated until 9:45. 😕 However, the manager (I wish I caught his name) greeted us with a glass of bubbly for the 4 of us and complimentary appetizer of the quite tasty sweet potato hummus. He could not have been more accommodating while apologizing for the delay. It seems previous diners just didn't want to leave. And understandably so. We were given great care and attention for the entirety of our visit and not rushed at all - even with the late seating. 😀 A perfect "save" from a most professional and congenial staff. Carolyn took great care of us. Oh, and the food was amazing! What started as a bit of a rocky start ended with a totally happy and satisfying result. We were so impressed and will definitely come back again and again. We are new fans of Rye Street Tavern.

The staff were very friendly in this cool new restaurant. We were helped quickly and efficiently when ordering dessert and drinks. We shared the coconut and chocolate desserts which tasted delicious and were really good portions compared to other fancy places. The drinks were good too. The design of the place if warm and quaint with some rural flair. The best part was when they gave us the bill, they handed each person a wrapped poppy seed muffin for free. Next time we'll have to try the entrees.

Food and waitress were amazing!! The reason for 3 stars is that we had (very early) reservations and we had to wait awhile for our table. The restaurant wasn't that full. They ended up seating us at a bar table where it was loud. You are practically sitting on top of the people next to you and can hear every word of their conversation (and vice versa). The restaurant knew this was a special occasion and they didn't even apologize for making us wait. Luckily our expensive food was very good and the waitress was more than accommodating.
