The Zagat Review
"Ample" portions of "inspired" yet "traditional" Chinese dishes from "crispy-skin duck" to "excellent" dim sum are the main attraction at this chainlet from Michael Chow (which includes a "classic barbecue" joint in Chinatown, a "reliable" take-out spot in Reading Terminal and an "old-school" University City branch); the service is "quick" and the prices "reasonable" , so even if it's "not much to look at" , it's still a "reliable" "go-to."

I love coming here for lunch or dinner. The wait is usually short (but make sure everyone in your party is present). The staff are helpful if you have questions about the entrees. The food comes out relatively quickly (depending on the dish). The prices are great as well.

Unfortunate our excitement of eating here dies pretty quickly! After ordering drinks and our initial food from the cart we kept getting past over, sitting there waiting for someone to come and serve us. I finally got a waitress attention and asked for a menu, only for it to be brought to our table and then taken away and given to another table. I don’t understand what I needed to do to get food!! The ladies serving on the carts spoke no English and though I tried to flag them down they ignored us! My sister, grandchild and I finally got up to leave when one lady responded very rudely that she had “NO” noodles when my sister asked for some and then she kept going to the following table where new customers sat down. Manager offer is a $7.00 discount, I refused. We literally were there like 45 minutes in total with 4 little bowls of food from the cart!! Never again! Avoid the frustration and enjoy a meal where you actually get service.

Love this place. Their duck is so tendy and juicy. They have a bunch of different options for any type of palette that all taste amazing. Order the golden buns! It's a sweet bread snack that tastes like crack. Food comes out quick, service is straight and to the point, and everyone is super friendly. One of my favorite places to eat in Philly.
