Upscale American spot for brunch & more

The Zagat Review
Breakfast and brunch “reign” at these “hugely popular” American spots, “a staple forever” for “wholesome” comfort food and baked goods served in “cheery” surrounds; they can be “fast-paced” “madhouses” by day, though dinner is “more civilized.”

Great food and the prices were very reasonable. The place was casual and the service was excellent. Appreciated that the waiter did not repeatedly stop by to ask how me and my guest was doing like at other places. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

The staff was really nice and worked fast. The waiter was very kind and attentive. The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because of how lame the dish I got was. I ordered a spinach and goat cheese omelet with a salad. For $18, especially from a Sarabeth's, I was expecting a bomb ass omelet. What I received was rubbery block of egg with the saddest and smallest salad. You'd get more leaves from a garnish on any normal dish than you would from this salad. But whatever, I thought maybe the taste would save the dish. But nah. The omelet didn't taste bad, it was just extremely plain. The worst part about it was that it only had goat cheese in half the omelet, the other half was just sad, empty, and green. Sort of like Chernobyl with its overgrown vegetation (but not too much vegetation; remember, they gave me the smallest salad possible). I felt ripped off. I obviously didn't complain to the waitress since I'm a little frail boi who saves his complaints until he's behind the safety of a keyboard; but regardless, I had to make my mark not with words, but with 0's and 1's. Anyways, I finished that small omelet and small salad in 3 minutes and sat there awkwardly while my brunch acquaintances ate their much better looking selections. I rate 8/8, this place was not so great.

I know this place is popular but their "Legendary muffins" were unheated, dry, and not that special. The French toast was good and nicely unusual. The eggs benedict came with cold salmon, which chilled the egg and the bread... Inedible. And a surprisingly tiny amount of sauce. Easily the worst benedict I've ever had. Coffee was good. Don't plan on returning.
