Floor-to-ceiling windows afford "awesome" city views at this "special-occasion" New American on the 16th floor of River North's Trump International Hotel & Tower, where "fresh, seasonal ingredients" are turned into "excellent" "works of art" ; the upscale space feels "intimate but expansive at the same time" , and the "agreeable" staff helps take the sting out of "expensive" tabs.

My mother decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip down here on our last day in Chicago so we could have a nice thing to eat and enjoy our time. When we first arrived we accidentally went in to the banquet area and then decided to take a few pictures before we would then find the restaurant area. Someone came over and escorted us out of the banquet sitting area, closing the door behind us, said it was a restricted area, despite there being other people in there feeling around and talking. We were then going to use the restroom and overheard them speaking about what I just occurred. Went to get seated and were put in a completely different area than the rest of everyone else, and were treated with skepticism and given strange glances from the staff the entire time we ate. Ordered parfaits with tea and coffee, food was nothing to write home about. Paid $50 to get treated like we were from another planet by the wait staff, despite paying the same price as everyone else in the restaurant. Wanted to validate parking as we were told we could do over the phone but were too embarrassed to ask about it, so paid the $18 for the hour we had stayed there and got out as quickly as possible. Very disappointed.

A bit too overpriced for the food quality. Yes, it has two Michelin stars and a nice view, but the breakfast was a bit underwhelming. All entrees were about $30 and coffee/tea was $8. Friendly service and nice atmosphere though! Went on a Sunday morning and the dining room was pretty empty.

Good breakfast with great views from the 16th floor of the Trump Tower. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, and food prepared to perfection.
