Fans say “nothing else compares” to the “exceptional” BBQ at these “lip-smackin’ good” shacks where “everything on the menu is terrific” , from “spot-on” sides to “off-the chain” sauces; it’s “worth the wait” (and “there almost always is one” ) to get into the “spartan” digs at Old Irving Park, but a “no-pretenses” approach means you can order at the counter, “get messy and fit right in” – or try the seasonal patio; P.S. the Revival Food Hall location has open seating.

I got the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender. The bun was substantial enough to stand up to the amount of meat and sauce. They provide two types of sauce -- Memphis and Carolina. I preferred the Memphis, although I recommend putting the Carolina sauce on the coleslaw. The Mac and Cheese was hot, cheesy, and had a very nice bread crumb top. The fries were good, although I would have like a bit crispier. Very good portion sizes all around.

I've only had it catered through work in the past, so this was the first time I had it in house. We had the "Chef's Table" which isn't normally available. Through that, I was able to sample a huge portion of their menu. They were out of pulled pork, but from past experience with having them catered, it is fantastic! Their brisket is amazing. I usually don't eat ribs, as I hate the mess, but these were easy to eat and worth it in flavor. It is BYOB, so one of us brought beer, while another brought wine. We had a few funny looks from other customers, but we didn't care. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely come back... Multiple times.

This was my first time eating at Smoque and it was a great experience. We moved through the line that was backed up to the entrance within 10 min and ordered. We were seated by an employee overseeing seating in the dining room right away, and our food was ready with 5 minutes. We both had brisket - 1 sandwich and 1 platter, and we both loved it and left very full. Great experience!
