Weekend outdoor food market
Food Court · Hudson Square · $
This SoHo spin-off of Smorgasburg hosts an array of familiar outdoor vendors selling oysters, tacos, dumplings, burgers and other items Friday to Sunday. There’s a full bar, umbrella-topped tables and an outpost of Brooklyn Flea across the street to make a day of it.

Smorg Square is the best thing to happen to lunch on Canal Street since... forever. The selection is enormous. Unfortunately, it's only open Fri-Sat-Sun. Prices are moderate, not cheap. I've enjoyed Lobster Rolls from Red Hook Lobster a few times ($20), a couple of varieties of Soba (pork and squid), and standard pork dumplings. Oh, and the watermelon juice served in a watermelon. Ample picnic table seating. The gravel covering most of the ground would be a killer on fancy shoes, beware.

Smaller than I expected but still offered good food choices. Liked the set up, ample seating. Don't miss the Ramen burger or the toasted marshmallow ice cream guy...sorry I can't remember the name of this stand.

Really fun for a group of people to experiment with new types of food and enjoy themselves. Although it is a bit expensive, it's New York City, what are you going to do? I rate 5/5 Really fun
