Service

"Sensational" Italian dishes, including "outrageously good" pastas, pair with "noteworthy" wines from the Boot at this A16 sibling in Lower Pac Heights, which consistently "nails the risks it takes" in the kitchen; "truly impressive" service helps justify the "splurge" , and while the "elegant-shoebox" setting is undeniably "tight" , there’s an "amazing" chef’s counter and even "sitting at the bar" is a "joy."

First time having dinner and I would certainly recommend and come back. We had a dish that was particularly a bit too salty and the server immediately rectified the situation by offering a replacement dish. Our server was fabulous, attentive and efficient. Chicken liver mousse... yum!

Very disappointed. Inattentive staff all the way from greeting at the door, recommending our party walk down the street to nearby bar/restaurant for a drink because reserved table not ready and there was "no room" for us right then. The chicken liver mousse came with very sweet jam mixed in the pot, and very thick garlic toast killed whatever was left of the liver taste. Scallops were ok but too many other items came together in an uninspired manner on the plate. Waiter never asked us if everything ok at our table, not friendly and disinterested in the quality of our experience. One of us left plenty of food on her plate, but waiter never asked what was wrong. This showed again that staff assumed a lot about the quality of food and level of service that was not actually being delivered. There are so many better choices for Italian restaurants here. Again very disappointed....

Everything was great. Attentive staff without being overbearing. Accomodated any of needs. Food was so delicious. Started with burrata salad with Brussels sprouts and had the mushroom risotto and the smoked fettuccine with sea urchin and bacon. Finished with an Amazon chocolate cinnamon tort with persimmon and chocolate gelato served with a warm dark chocolate sauce over the top. A very memorable way to finish an anniversary trip to SF
