"Outstanding" , "beautifully prepared" New American cuisine served by "exceptional" staffers who treat everyone "like VIPs" makes this "elegantly appointed" Presidio Heights haunt perfect for "celebrations and milestone events" ; prices are definitely skewed toward "the five percent" , but the "flexible" setup ( "casual at the bar, formal in the dining room" ) keeps it attractive to all comers.

I popped into Spruce to take a customer call and fell for their charcoal latte. A bit trendy for the sake of trendy but its tasty ($5, I went half sweet on the vanilla). The customer service and number of tables were both excellent. The WiFi was so so but more than enough for a call.

Are you looking for fine dinning in SF that not many people know about and tourists don't visit... you've found it. This restaurant is simple yet very chic and hasn't lost it's SF flare. I'd recommend this place for a special occasion or if you just feel like venturing out of the hustle and bustle of other more-crowded areas in the city. Laurel Heights is quiet and beautiful. The grilled Bavette steak was tasty but if you're feeling adventurous go for the Oxtail... superb.

Spruce has great service and incredible food. It's a bit spendy ($$$), but the food and atmosphere are well worth it. I highly recommend the burger. And they have great cocktails as well. Feels "fancier" than most SF places so dress accordingly.
