This place is amazing. One of my new favorite restaurants in DC. The building is an old bank and it's really cool how they redid it. We had a couple bourbon cocktails each that were all fantastic. Even the Manhattan was way better than expected. For mains, I can't recommend the shrimp & grits enough. Not usually my go-to but totally knocked my socks off. We ended with a hummingbird cake, which was delicious and more than enough to share. Great date spot, or really anytime.

Succotash has a lot to love. Absolutely beautiful building with cavernous interior that reminded me of a classic French or New Orleans venue. Good bar staff with the currently common hipster attitude. Incredible bourbon selection. My one disappointment was the menu. I expected more “southern” options. It was pretty basic.

What an awesome find. Food, service, ambience, all wonderful! Highly recommend the Hot Brown, chicken and waffles, and the ham board! Cutest little biscuits you've ever seen. Dont forget to save room for the hummingbird cake! Ask for Colin, he will make your visit special!
