New American cafe with a dessert focus
Dessert · River North Art District · $$
Part of chef-restaurateur Troy Guard's ever-growing empire, this cheery, "comfortable" RiNo cafe and bakery opens in the morning to serve some "very good pastries" and breakfast sandwiches before switching over to table service from midday on, when the lively open kitchen turns out sophisticated New American plates; the handmade "pasta of the day is always a great pick" , and so are the elaborate, "fabulous" desserts implied by the name.

I took my wife there for desserts tonight. The place is small, but very cozy. We ordered two desserts and both were fantastic. The food smelled delicious and we will certainly go back for dinner one night just based on the smell of the place alone. All of the entrees looked great. They also have a small bakery counter when you first enter, also very delicious. Whom ever is baking there is doing a fantastic job. There would be a picture to accompany this review but the desserts were so good that they didn't last long enough for a picture.

Stopped by the Sugarmill for drinks and had a lovely afternoon on the patio soaking up the sun. The service was top-notch and the house music was funky, a winning combination in my book. I've eaten here before and have always been impressed by the attentive friendly service and delicious food. Well done. We'll be back!!

Absolutely love lunch here! They offer a small menu where everything is just terrific. I I had a quiche with green salad and it could not have been better! Perfectly proportioned, perfectly dressed and service was outstanding. I'd give them more stars if I could.
