Stylish choice for modern Thai cooking

The Zagat Review
“Thai-rific” exclaim fans of this “must-try” Bouldin Creek eatery bringing the Southeast Asian cuisine “to a whole new level” via “amazing small dishes” (the “son-in-law” deserves “a shout out” ), curries and whole market catch; it’s “dimly lit” and can get “a little loud” among the large wooden communal tables, so some opt to “enhance the experience” by sitting at the chef’s counter “overlooking the kitchen.”

It was my first time at Sway, and what an experience! The service was amazing, the ambience was soothing and happy. And then the food arrived! It was the most delicious meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Someone..either the manager or the executive chef..came personally to our table with the server to explain the tastes of the different dishes. It was overall amazing and I would go back whenever I am in Austin again.

This place is the best!!!!! Out of towner here and decided to try it out since the rating was high. Service was great and speedy. We sat at the table facing the chef and it was fantastic to see the preparation. We had the pork ribs as appetizer, Texas curry, and blue crab fried rice. All was excellent. The ribs and curry were spicy but not too much to handle. The blue crab fried rice was award winning in my book. If you eat that in between the two spicy dishes than it serves as a good buffer. I will be coming back for sure. The price is fair and the environment was fancy.

Traveling around for great food, we happened upon SWAY and thought this restaurant looked fantastic. The restaurant was beautiful, seemed perfect upon arrival. The one entree that actually arrived was good, small portion with powerful flavor. However, our waiter was very condescending with any inquiries, our drinks ran dry and everything is significantly over priced for the poor service. We were explained that the meals came out in the order of preparation of the kitchen, and ordered family style as suggested. After 20+ minutes on a slow evening waiting on a final course (while the couple next to us had their entrees coming out in perfect 5 min intervals) We finally inquired whereabouts. It was discovered that the entree was not placed properly, but the neglect of the server doomed us from ever receiving it. The manager came out and apologized, gave us a $15 card for “our next visit,” less than the value of an appetizer. Considering our traveling, What a way to spend a vacation centered on the great food Austin has to offer. (Visited day before valentines) This restaurant deserves more stars based on the taste of the food alone, but the portion size, family style suggestion and lack of genuine service kills the experience. Do not reccomend.
