“Creative sushi” and “excellent” Japanese home-cooking basics at a favorable “quality-to-price ratio” earn these neighborhood spots “favorite” status; a “helpful” staff adds warmth to the “nothing-fancy” setups, which “bustle” at prime times.
This is the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to. I want this place to stay a secret because it’s my go to spot, but it’s delicious. I can’t keep quiet about it. Get there when they open or at least before 7 unless you want to be put on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list I suggest checking out the library which is a bar up the block from Takahachi. Once your table is ready Takahachi will call you so you don’t have to wait there the whole time. My favorite rolls below. Spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and loco roll. ♥️
Ps: the sushi gods work here.

Awesome Sushi! I personally like it better than nakazawa, sit at the counter and let Chef Jack do his thing. They've had some of the best toro I've ever tasted. Chef jack uses generous pieces of fish and combines modern flavors on sushi. Cilantro roll is a must have if you don't hate cilantro. Have been going for years!

By no means a "top quality" sushi, but affordable and consistent. Service is always good but it is popular (attracts a family crowd) and there can be a wait if you don't get there early.
