Takoi had received national awards for their food and they deserve it. The flavor palate is amazing. However, as a vegetarian, I was slightly disappointed with their offerings. I know it is Thai inspired but Thai food is extremely Veg friendly. Though the food is delicious, the chef needs to be aware that we eat for nutrition as well as enjoyment. The vegetarian/vegan dishes are more like side dishes for meat eaters; none offered any type of protein. That being said, my carnivorous dining companion was thrilled with the meal. The environment is gorgeous, very hipster. They have, however, fallen into the trap of modern restaurant design. Acoustically, it's a really live space. The noise from the diners filling the room can sometimes be overwhelming. With all of that, I did really enjoy my meal. My server was also really on top of things.

Service was amazing! My server, Chris, was so interactive and so informative! My table had so much fun with him! The bartender, Ben, was so attentive! Definitely did not exclude anyone! By far the greatest experience! Definitely will come back! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

I've heard great things about this spot and I wasn't disappointed. The menu has a good selection of sake, beers and mixed drinks. Most of the dishes however have hot spices which I'm personally not a fan of so mild to non-spice options are minimal. Yet this isn't a strike against the restaurant; simply a personal preference. The atmosphere is awesome! There was a live DJ who played a mix of jazz fusion classics that set the mood quite nice. The customer service was superb. I would definitely come back.
